Are there any additional costs for SpotOn?
Yes. Customers may incur additional fees when using SpotOn and SpotOn Plus. With mobile messaging, the first 50 SMS messages sent each month are free, and any messages sent in excess of that number will cost the subscriber: (10¢ each for 51-500 messages, 8¢ each for 501-1000 messages, 6¢ each for 1001-2000 messages, 2001+ messages are 5¢ each. Mobile/SMS). For SpotOn Plus users, each loyalty program transaction or “swipe” will cost 10 cents.
What’s included in the free business kit?
When you sign up for SpotOn, you’ll receive an acrylic counter display, window decal sticker, and table tents to help you promote your business’ foray into social media. When you sign up for the loyalty and gift card program, you’ll also receive an acrylic counter display sign with loyalty/gift card holder, 40 full color custom designed loyalty and gift cards, and 15 gift card holders with envelopes.
How long does it take to set up my SpotOn account?
A specialist will contact you to begin setup of your account within three business days of sign up.

What is the SpotOn Facebook App?
The SpotOn Facebook App is a customized application that we’ll place on your business’ Facebook page. It is designed to incentivize customers to build word of mouth about your business, by sharing your specials with their own social networks. For SpotOn Plus subscribers, the SpotOn Facebook App will also provide customers with a way to track and earn additional loyalty points they can redeem for rewards at your business.
Can I use my current equipment, or will I need another card processing system (POS/terminals)?
In most cases, you won’t need additional equipment, and SpotOn will simply download our software to your current equipment. In some cases, equipment may be needed, and a SpotOn specialist will help you find the most cost effective solution for your business.
How will customers sign up for the loyalty program with a merchant?
Customers can sign up in the store by providing their mobile number at checkout, or they can sign up online via the business’s Facebook page through the SpotOn Facebook App.
Who decides how items are redeemed with loyalty points?
You’ll be able to choose from two types of loyalty programs – one where points are calculated by number of visits, one by dollars spent. You will determine the number of points allotted for each visit or dollar.
How does SpotOn track points & visits?
SpotOn brings your loyalty program online, automatically tracking customer points, visits, and spend right from our dashboard.
How do customers earn & redeem loyalty points?
Points can be earned by making a purchase of visiting your place of business. To redeem, the business will simply swipe the customer’s loyalty card (or provide their mobile number) at the register and enter the amount of points being redeemed into the terminal.
Do customers need to have their loyalty cards to earn/redeem points?
No. One of the best parts about SpotOn is that it can be cardless program. Once registered, customers can simply provide their mobile phone number at checkout to earn points.
How do customers track their own points?
Customers enrolled in your loyalty program can check their points balance at any time through the tab on your Facebook page.
What if I want loyalty/gift cards?
Good news- you can create, customize, and purchase your unique business gift/loyalty cards right from the SpotOn dashboard. The first 40 cards are free for SpotOn Plus users. Card pricing is tiered in after the initial 40 cards.

How does text messaging work?
Customers who provide their phone numbers in the store or register online are sent a text message to opt-in to the program, and their numbers are stored in the SpotOn database for your business. Simply log in to SpotOn, create your message, and send!

How would my customers receive my text messages?
They would have to “Opt-in” using your keyword. Your customers can do that by texting your business’s keyword to the short code 32589. Then they would receive a message letting them what kind of alerts they would receive and how many a month.
What’s a keyword?
A keyword is unique word or name used to identify with your business. For example if you own a coffee shop, a great keyword to use for your text messaging campaign would be “Coffee”. Popular, common words do go fast so SpotOn will ask that you give us 3 keywords you would like to use.
Will my customer’s be charged for receiving my text messages?
It depends on what type of plan each individual has with their mobile carrier. Once they opt in they will be notified that “Msg & Data Rates May Apply.”
How can my customer stop receiving my messages?
We hope that doesn’t happen! But if it does, it’s very simple. They can simply respond STOP to your text message. They will then receive a confirmation message letting them know they have “opted-out” and will no longer receive any more message from your business.
How will using Deals help my business?

How can a customer redeem a deal?
You have the ability to decide how your customers can redeem a deal. If you post a deal on your social networks, customers can simply click on the deal link to get a unique redemption code. They can choose to print, email, or text message the code to themselves, which they will ultimately present to your business at checkout.

How can I monitor the success of my Deals?
Our advanced analytics allow businesses to see exactly who has viewed a Deal, who has redeemed, and even how many people have clicked on it. You can even print and downloaded deal.
Can I track who and how many people have redeemed a deal?
Yes. Just log in and enter the redemption code, and click redeem. SpotOn will even show you the name and picture of the customer that is presenting the code.
What if I don’t have a computer or internet connection at my business?
No problem. Just log into SpotOn to view and print the list of redemptions to keep at near the checkout counter.
What happens when a deal expires?
No need to worry about deals being available after they expire. While the link to your deal may still appear on your business’s Facebook or Twitter page, the deal will still expire in accordance with the end date you selected when you created the deal. Users who click on an expired link will be notified that the deal is no longer available.

What does 360° view of customers consist of?

What is the difference between making a post within a promo and a single post?
Creating a promo allows the merchant to group several related messages together and to view when pre-scheduled posts will be sent. Messages sent individually and as a promo will still appear the same to the recipient on Facebook, Twitter or SMS.
How do people show up in my contacts list?
Customers, Twitter followers, Facebook fans and SMS subscribers will all be filtered to your SpotOn Contacts tab.
Why do some contacts have photos and names, and others have only phone numbers?
Contacts who have opted in to SMS may have connected their loyalty card accounts to Facebook and Twitter so that their name, photo and summary appear, while others who have only registered for loyalty or SMS will appear by phone number only.
